Old Friends

June 15, 2018 by Stan Johnson (Register to contact)

I'm sailing under false colors. I registered to this site to attempt to get in touch with 2 old friends that went to Sandia. Sue and Carol Boling. I'm actually a Manzano High Class of 1966 graduate. At my 50th HS reunion I learned that 6 of my old class mates had passed from this life and many others were on Oxygen or in wheel chairs. That saddened me and got me to thinking about getting in contact with friends from the past. I would like to hear from Sue and Carol. Maybe trade stories from the last 50 years. ( I owe Sue a much overdue apology for being a real Jerk.) I sincerely hope they have been as lucky in life as I have. So if if you should see this, Sue or Carol, please get in touch. Wishfully yours, Stan Johnson

Newly published novel

December 20, 2014 by Bruce Byers (Register to contact)

In November 2014 I have published a novel - The Extraordinary Journey of Harry Forth - that describes some of my high school experiences (all characters are fictional) during my junior year at Sandia. The story also describes the cross-country journey of the protagonist Harry Forth who has been selected to participate in a summer foreign exchange student program. Harry rides a Greyhound bus from Albuquerque to Montreal, boards a ship with hundreds of other high school students and spends 10 days crossing the Atlantic to Europe. During his journey he meets some interesting strangers on the bus and many more of his peers from across the U.S. on the ship. The book is available through the publisher Author House and through Amazon and Barnes and Noble in soft cover or as an E-book. Comments and critiques are welcome. BKByers
